"Last year's season put the Mustang Quiz Bowl program ahead of schedule. What started as an experiment to get some middle school students more playing time against top players turned into an unexpected state title and a run to the Sunday playoffs at SSNCT.

At this point, the element of surprise is completely gone, and this crew now faces the daunting task of playing with a target on its back. They know that every opponent will be especially keyed up to compete with them. For a team looking to make it further at SSNCT this year, that increased intensity is a blessing in disguise.

Unlike last year, this year's A squad for the regular season is a true "A squad". Elliot Lefebvre, Sophia Gallardo, Georgia Lowry, and William Russman all return as one unit. Joining that nucleus this season is the veteran fine arts specialist Gigi Gonya and 8th grader Sahil Wadhwa, who's quickly becoming one of the top science players in the program. The B team is also extremely young. They sport 5 freshmen, 4 of whom made multiple appearances at MSNCT in middle school. They will also have the services of veteran Shawn Frost (who's been to SSNCT a couple of times) and sophomore literature specialist Sedona Zimring.

These Mustangs are excited to take on what looks to be the toughest challenge in the short history of the program."
